The battle in pictures
  • The Delgon
    The Delgon
The Delgon - NuraSen Plutom with 2 KalDromar; a NuraKira with 2 KalDromar; a KalGush and a KalDruKar for shooting goodness; 3 KalJoran for added protection; and a KalMalog for attacking ahead.
  • Kedashi
    Kedashi
Now for the Kedashi: two young queens (yes, this time around the Seldoath wanted to play a queen. I swear, until that guy gets his own rules we’ll never be in peace); a bagrun with a Trebarnii boss as a handler; and 16 frenu.
  • The terrain
    The terrain
    The terrain, quite simple.
  • Deployment
    Deployment
The Kedashi deploy first. They settle inside the forest, and the queens add some more for good measure. The Delgon deploy next.
  • End of turn 1
    End of turn 1
First turn, the Delgon advance while the Kedashi stay put.
  • Death of the KalGush
    Death of the KalGush
It’s the Kedashi’s turn and the bombing begins. The KalGush is the first to go.
  • Fall of the bodyguards
    Fall of the bodyguards
The bombing continues. The Delgon resist well for a time, however NuraSen Plutom himself is soon under threat.
  • More bodyguards come to help
    More bodyguards come to help
The NuraKira approaches and lends his KalDromar, while the KalMalog advances towards the queens : it is enough of a threat that a bunch of frenu are sent in to deal with it, without success.
  • Death of the Trebarnii boss
    Death of the Trebarnii boss
The Trebarnii boss is sent in: mistake. He gets squished under the Kalmalog’s mechanical feet. Meanwhile, more Delgon approach.
  • NuraSen Plutom is surrounded
    NuraSen Plutom is surrounded
The bombing continues, and NuraSen Plutom finds himself alone, his bodyguards having perished under the onslaught.
  • The KalMalog attacks the Bagrun
    The KalMalog attacks the Bagrun
The KalMalog then attacks the Bagrun, without luck.
  • The KalMalog attacks a queen
    The KalMalog attacks a queen
It then turns its attention to one of the queens, but again fails to hurt her.
  • Death of NuraSen Plutom
    Death of NuraSen Plutom
Meanwhile, NuraSen Plutom gets bombed to death, alas.
  • Death of the NuraKira
    Death of the NuraKira
    The NuraKira follows.
  • End game
    End game
That’s it – the Delgon have been defeated, the forest remains as dangerous as ever.
Some thoughts on the game and the rules
  • This is the first appearance of the dreaded queen/bagrun/frenu list. With all the Kedashi hidden in the forest and forcing their opponents to come to them under an intense bombardment, they are extremely difficult to deal with. Of course the Delgon could have waited as well, but then there wouldn’t have been much of a game. It just goes to show that when it comes to the Naralon Forests, the safest approach is simply not to enter them.
