Captain Jarmu
Alternate Spelling: The Crimson Helm
Jarmu is a brave captain of the Paigural militia, who came to the notice of the Emperor for slaying the mighty Keral-Gedar. At the time he was leading his militia in the escort of a travelling trader, and when Keral's hunting pack set upon the caravan, it was Jarmu who rallied his troops and drove the attackers away, slaying the great kopa with his own spear.
In honour of his service, Jarmu was presented his crimson helm by the Emperor himself. His prowess has grown in the retelling and he is seen by many as a symbol of the strength of the clan militias in protecting their own. His refusal to join any of the knightly orders has been seen as a contentious action across the Empire, and used as an argument against the knights, whose existence is seen by some as a large drain of their resources, especially in regions where the devanu are a rare sighting.
