Twilight Day Twilight Day 2025 was a much more narrative approach compared to recent years, possibly not sensible for our largest event to date, but I think it worked out in the end! The day’s games all took place in or around the streets of Teral – I’ll have to share the introductory text about what has been going on. Every player was allocated to either the Loyalists (those who support Danakan and the local government, including the Delgon…) or the Dissidents (the unhappy masses) and during the day we tracked the sentiment in the city as it swung between the two views. The day started with everybody playing a (relatively) simple, but quirky scenario. Possibly a little ambitious as an opener, but we saw plenty of troublemakers/unfortunates dragged off to the lock-up. It seemed like a fair balance between those who ended up in the cells and those who managed to escape. Almost universally there was bloodshed, but a special mention goes out to Arthur and Gary (I think) who managed to play out the whole scenario without anybody being injured - how very civilised! A few players managed to squeeze in an extra game, but we rapidly hit lunch and (as is traditional) had to play a ludicrous big multi-player game! The streets of Teral suddenly became very crowded with upset citizens having a big (mostly peaceful) protest. The Loyalists were (of course) unhappy with this development, so had to try and quell the unrest. The dissidents were keen to see the protest stir up sympathy, but I’m afraid to say that a few dissidents may have had less peaceful objectives… There was much back and forth, but the overall feeling in the city certainly started to swing towards the Dissidents. Muri was smuggling out some important information, and the crowds seemed to be advancing on Danakan’s home and the local park. It didn’t take long for the Delgon guard to lose patience with the crowds and panic ensued.
A small band of Orel mercenaries chose that moment to strike, cornering poor, confused Danakan outside his home. Lord Rashar Oren lead the attack and witnesses saw his great grakukan bearing Danakan to the ground before NuraTia Obal’s personal guard could interject and drag the critically injured Chancellor to safety. Rumours have spread through the city since that fateful day, some say that Danakan was killed, but the Delgon are hushing it up, others that NuraSen Plutom has been brought down from the North to save him. Whatever the case, he has not been seen in public since the brutal assassination attempt. Obal has however been taking the opportunity to capitalise, speaking out against the Emperor for orchestrating the attack, working against the peaceful Terali who wish only to have some say in their own governance! In response, he has granted himself more powers to hunt down the enemy wherever they may lurk within the streets. I’m looking forward to exploring what happens next – I have plans for a kickstarter so you can also play out this chapter in the story (albeit in a slightly different form), but that may take a little while to come to fruition!
